My Blog
A friend asked me the other day what I was doing online to make money. When I told her about Ptc sites ( Paid To Click ) and blogging and making websites, she shook her head and said she could never do it, she said it was way to complicated for her! This got me thinking, most people probably feel the same way. They feel that you need special skills to get in to internet marketing, while some skills like code building are very useful, you don't actually need them, anyone can do this, you just have to have the willingness to learn and see it through.
I decided to start this website for people like my friend, who don't know where to begin. Its very easy to get lost in the sea of information available on the net, you get overwhelmed and it can end up putting you off! I was also like my friend only a few months ago, I didn't have a clue where to begin, all I knew was that it was possible to make money online, and I was determined to do it. No one took me by the hand and showed me what to do, I had to learn for myself. I refused to be scammed by all of the gurus out there offering to lead me, and besides that, my budget would not allow it, or I would probably be down and out by now. I did get scammed a few times buying cheaper programs. I also bought a few eBooks, only to discover the information I bought was already on the internet for free, I just didn't look hard enough. So, in this website I will give as much info as i can, for free. Why should folk pay for information that is free anyway? Knowledge is power and we all need to arm ourselves with it before we get in to any internet venture, especially where money is concerned!
The world is made up of all sorts of surfers. Some folk just want to hang out in Facebook or twitter or MySpace or any other social network site, others play games or shop till they drop. There are those who would like to earn cash online but don't know where to start, some have started but are making peanuts and there are those who are making a decent living from they're endeavors, and there a few who have it cracked and are earning thousands. This learning curve that I'm on has really opened up my eyes to internet marketing. Normal average people who know nothing about the subject are a huge part of it, and they keep the cog's on this huge marketing wheel going without even realizing it. Its big business and the big people are literally making millions from us. Its about time people like you and me got in on the action!
Its really all about you, your attitude and how hard you are willing to work for it. I'm sure you have all seen the ads from guru's promising to make you $40,000 per moth, or an instant millionaire over night. I have to laugh when I see those ads and then I wonder how many people actually fall for it and buy a system that is over complicated, over priced and completely useless! I bet there are a lot of good folks falling for these scams, spending hard earned cash and receiving a bunch of BS in return, I've been there myself more than once.
The truth is, nothing will make you a millionaire over night unless your very lucky and win the lottery. You have more chance of winning the lottery than striking gold with a bought system from the internet. There is information for sale in truck loads all over the place, so much info and not enough hours in the day to get through it.
I'm new to all of this internet marketing stuff, I literally only started a few months ago. One day I stumbled upon a PTC site and that was it! I joined loads of them thinking I would make loads of money, I ended up with so many sites that I could not possibly get through them all, and I was only making around a dollar a day. It was too much like hard work, but I did learn how to flog my affiliate links, I learned how to use traffic exchange sites to get even more exposure to my links. Traffic exchange sites are great, I prefer the auto exchange sites as you don't have to be clicking all the time, but I feel that you get better exposure with the manual sites. These are great if you have plenty of time on your hands to sit clicking all day. A good way to get round this is to build your down-lines, get referrals for your traffic exchange sites and let them do the work for you. All of this takes time and you really have to keep track of all your sites. I make folders in my bookmark and separate all my links, a folder for ptc sites I've joined, another for ptc sites I have referrals with, traffic exchange sites, sites for advertising and so on, its a lot easier to keep track that way.
After a few weeks of trawling the net for new ways to make money online, I came across an add from Buxhost, the ad was all about starting your own ptc site. I jumped at the chance and for $35 a month, it was a done deal. So I had my own PTC site called Diamondawgdollars. Unfortunately I did not make any money from this site, its was costing me quite a bit of cash so I decided to close the site. Buxhost sites have a bad reputation for turning in to a scam, and unfortunately Buxhost bares the brunt of it. Since I had my site, there have been hundreds of new ones flung up, some good, but most bad, and if your new to ptc, how will you know? I will go in to more detail about scam sites later.
A bog standard bux site makes money from its members, either upgrading they're membership or buying ad space, if no one is buying, then no one is getting paid, that's simply how it works. ALWAYS check the FAQ and terms of service pages before you join any ptc site! You need to know what you will be paid when you reach they're minimum payout. Some sites only pay you between 1% and 6% of what you make! I will use an old site I used to frequent as an example. I joined Paylowbux, they're minimum payout for a standard member is $25. So I faithfully clicked away, I even upgraded my membership for $3. I requested my payout and they put $1 in to my PayPal account. I was shocked, gutted, I felt cheated, I was cheated! Then I read the TOS and FAQ and they had it clearly stated that I would only be paid a fraction of what I made! Needless to say my relationship with them ended abruptly. Through Paylowbux I discovered more and more ptc sites, some bad but a few of them are very good, like Neobux and Clixsense. These sites pay you the full amount you earn, they have been around for years and are very trustworthy, its not easy to get their excellent reputation.
So how can you tell a scam site from a good paying site? There are a lot of little tell tale signs.
First and foremost is the forum! If as a standard (free) member you cannot enter the forum, and you need to upgrade before you can view it, I would be very suspicious, why cant you view the forum? what are they hiding from you? Or you can access the forum but its been abandoned by admin, old posts, perhaps there are a lot of complaints about payments, I would steer clear of it. The forum should be the heart of any good ptc site, you should feel welcome with a sense of community. A good forum will allow you to start your own thread where you can post your stats and get advice from older members. Take Neobux for example, they have a fantastic forum loaded with useful information and plenty of old members are there willing to give you good advice. Think of the forum as another way of educating yourself on ptc sites.
Can you use the ticket service? Can you message the site owner about any problems you are having? With paylowbux, even after I upgraded my membership, I could not access the forum or send a ticket. I wanted to get in touch with these people about the measly $1 they paid me, I couldn't. I emailed the guy who's name showed up on my PayPal account, I'm still waiting on a reply!
How many ads are there? This is a big clue as to how well a site is doing. How many ads are you getting per day? Less than five? Stop clicking now because you will never make payout with this many ads. A good PTC site should have at least eight to ten ads per day, and this is without a premium membership. This is the average but you may get more or less. Think about it - the site makes money by advertising. If they have no ads, they don't get paid AND neither do you. Pay attention to the ads. Have you seen these types of ads before? Buy referrals here, sign up for our forum, get paid fast with premium membership, referral contest, etc. Well these ads are to increase memberships, they do not earn any money for the site. This is normal for a new site to show these types of ads but watch out if these are the only ads still showing after the site has been open for several months. What good are members who are not getting paid?
How much are they paying per ad? How much is the advertising packages, do the math, If they are paying you more than a cent per click and charging 60 cents per 1000 views per advertising package, then they just want your cash, this is unsustainable. Avoid all the dollar click sites, 1 dollar click, 4, 5, 6, 7 9, 10 dollar click, they are all scam sites! How can any site pay you 10 dollars per click, think about it folks, this is complete fantasy and anyone who clicks on they're ads will be very gutted come pay day. They claim to pay you 10 dollars per click, you will get paid once you reach 100,000 dollars and payments take 65 days to process!! Really? Need I say more? Learn from my mistakes folks, been there, done that and did not get paid.
Type the name of the site in to Google, for example " paylowbux scam" or " paylowbux investigation". This will bring up a lot of pages about the site, read all the reviews, but remember, not all of them will be honest. Some folk will say anything to get you to join up under them, and other folk will bash a site just because they don't like it or they had a bad experience. Don't take everything you read as the gospel but do gather enough info to make an intelligent decision.
Not all ptc sites without forums are scam sites but a forum holds discussions and postings. Unlike a blog, this is generally a community with lots of user input. If the site has no user forum, it has no openness policy and does not encourage discussion between the users and for that reason, I avoid them. This is a personal choice and you can make your own decisions on this.
I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my blog, I hope some of you will find this information helpful. If you have any questions or anything you would like to add, please feel free to use the form below.
